Anthropic brought in $16.3 billion in revenue in the first half of 2026, up from $1.1 billion a year earlier, according to a draft prospectus for its planned initial public offering reviewed by The Wall Street Journal, the newspaper reported Tuesday.
The draft is not final. It shows a first-half net loss of $80.7 billion, the Journal reported, but about $72 billion of that was non-cash accounting charges tied to the changing value of convertible notes and other financing instruments Anthropic issued to raise money, not cash spent running the business.
Why it matters
The document gives the first detailed look at the Claude maker’s finances ahead of a listing. Besides the non-cash charge, the draft shows Anthropic spent nearly $9 billion on computing capacity and infrastructure in the first half, the Journal reported.
What’s next
The figures could change before Anthropic files a final prospectus. The company has not publicly set a date for its offering.
