Anthropic’s revenue rose 45% to $16.8 billion in the three months through September, according to the BBC, which said it had learned the figure as the company courted investors ahead of an expected stock market listing.

Anthropic told investors at an event at its San Francisco headquarters that it made a third-quarter profit on an adjusted basis, an accounting method that excludes non-recurring costs, according to the BBC.

Why it matters

Revenue was $4.7 billion in the first quarter and $11.6 billion in the second, according to the BBC.

Who has a stake

The investor event came as AI-linked stocks fell. Chipmakers including AMD, Nvidia and Intel dropped sharply Wednesday over concerns about AI spending, according to the BBC.
