Crusoe said Sept. 17 it completed the initial closing of a $3.9 billion Series F at a $30.9 billion post-money valuation. The oversubscribed round was co-led by Atreides Management, Mubadala Capital, and Valor Equity Partners, with significant backing from new and existing investors including Founders Fund, GIC, NVIDIA, Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), Radical Ventures, and TPG, according to the company.

What the capital is for: Crusoe calls itself a vertically integrated AI infrastructure provider — energy through data centers to Crusoe Cloud — and says the money will scale existing programs and AI factories, from large campuses to modular Crusoe Spark units. The company claims more than $140 billion in total contracted value across its platform, more than 6 GW of gross contracted capacity (including 1 GW delivered and operational), and more than $100 million in ARR already contracted for Crusoe Managed Inference.

Why it matters for markets: A nearly $4 billion primary at a roughly $31 billion mark is late-stage silicon-and-power money — the same AI-factory trade that has filled private markets for neocloud and energy-first infra names. Nvidia sitting in the syndicate ties the round to the GPU stack, not just financial sponsors. That is capex and contracted capacity, not a tip on any ticker.

Stake: Frontier labs and hyperscalers buying capacity; competing AI-factory / neocloud builders; power and modular-DC suppliers; LPs already in Crusoe’s prior rounds.

What’s next: Final close size vs the $3.9B anticipated figure; how much of the $140B+ TCV converts to cash revenue; Spark factory deployment pace; any follow-on Nvidia or sovereign commitments.
