Anthropic adds usage and spend reports to Claude Enterprise
Anthropic says the reports analyze a sample of team transcripts to show what work gets done and its cost, and pooled budgets give groups one shared budget.

Anthropic has made three management tools generally available for Claude Enterprise, its business version of the Claude chatbot: smart reports that analyze how teams use Claude, in-app surveys and pooled group budgets. “Smart reports surface what a team gets done with Claude, and what that work costs,” Anthropic said in an Oct. 28 post.
How the reports work: An administrator picks a team, a date range and the Claude products to include. “Claude analyzes a sample of the team’s transcripts and groups the work into workstreams,” Anthropic said. Each report shows spending for each workstream, the deliverables produced and common points of friction, such as a missing connector or a failed tool call. Anthropic said each report ends with one list of recommendations, such as recurring workflows to turn into reusable skills, and can answer custom questions about model usage and cost. Organization owners can let team leads who aren’t administrators run reports for their own groups.
The disclaimer: Anthropic said smart reports “help admins understand adoption and inform investment planning, but they aren’t for evaluating individual performance or making employment decisions.”
Customers quoted: The post quotes several customer employees. John Jannone, AI enablement lead for engineering enablement at DoorDash, said the reports “still surfaced things I didn’t know.” Kamlesh Mallikarjunan, a lead product manager for AI employee experience at Docusign, said the reports help “show leadership real outcomes.” Ran Yitzhaki, a software engineer, said “each smart report is based on tens of thousands of sessions.”
Surveys: Anthropic said in-app surveys appear as a short card after a Claude reply. The default questions ask about the most valuable thing someone did with Claude recently and what would break or slow down if the team lost access. Admins can change the questions and export responses to a spreadsheet. Anthropic said surveys can now be turned on for organizations that use customer-managed encryption keys.
Budgets: Pooled group budgets give a group one shared monthly budget, so heavy users are less likely to hit an individual limit early in the month while others leave budget unspent, Anthropic said. Individual member limits still apply, and a member stops at whichever limit runs out first. Admins with billing permissions get email alerts at 50%, 75%, 95% and 100% of a budget. Anthropic said availability varies by configuration, including for organizations with a HIPAA setup or customer-managed keys.
Why it matters: Smart reports are built on reading employees’ work. Anthropic says Claude analyzes a sample of a team’s transcripts and reports on what the team produced, what it cost and where it got stuck, and team leads, not only administrators, can be allowed to run them. That puts a summary of how people do their jobs in front of their managers. Anthropic draws the line itself, saying the reports aren’t for judging individuals or making employment decisions, but that is a statement of intended use by the company that sells the tool. Employers deciding whether to turn the reports on will be weighing that wording, along with their own workplace rules. The tools are also built to grow use: the reports recommend new workflows, and admins can raise a spend limit from the report itself. That matters for a company now selling itself to investors in its IPO filing.
