Apple ships Siri AI as an English beta in iOS 27
The EU is held out, and French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish are listed for later, Apple says.

Apple began rolling out Siri AI today as a beta in English with the 2027 software releases — iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27 — on Apple Intelligence–enabled devices set to a supported language. More languages (French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish) are listed for next month / October.
What shipped: A personal-context assistant Apple says can search across messages, email, and photos; take systemwide app actions; use onscreen awareness; and answer with web-backed world knowledge. It runs across the OS surfaces above. Apple also says Siri AI is not available for users under 13.
Limits / who is held out: Apple’s same post: Siri AI will not be available initially in the EU on iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS — and features that rely on it are likewise held there while Apple says it seeks a path that “preserves its users’ privacy and security.” China is separately held while Apple works through regulatory requirements. Server-side Apple Intelligence features (including Siri AI) face daily usage limits.
Who it is for: English-language users on supported hardware who want the new Siri now and will accept beta behavior. EU (and China) users on the held platforms are waiting on Apple’s regulatory path, not a toggle.
Risk: Personal-context assistants that read across apps are a privacy and kids product as much as a convenience drop. Under-13 block is stated; EU holdout is the live policy fight. Treat Apple demos as marketing until outside tests land.
What’s next: October language expansion; any EU availability date; China path; whether daily server-side limits become a paid tier (Apple flags expanded access “for a fee in the future”).
