Nvidia orders from China: ByteDance, Alibaba and Tencent have ordered more than 3 million Nvidia RTX PRO 5500 graphics cards, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing two people familiar with the matter. At about $11,400 a card, the orders carry a sticker price of more than $35 billion, those people said. Reuters said the workstation chip is less powerful than Nvidia’s top AI chips but can be sold under U.S. export rules. Nvidia has told customers it cannot guarantee it can fill the orders, Reuters reported. One source said buyers might get only 5% to 10% of what they asked for. Samples are due in December and deliveries in the first quarter of 2027, the sources said. An Nvidia spokesperson told Reuters that U.S. firms are limited by “outdated US export controls” and China’s own limits on U.S. imports.

Gemini in Android Auto: Google began rolling out Personal Intelligence for Gemini on Android Auto on Tuesday, the company said. With a driver’s permission, Gemini can draw on Gmail, Google Calendar, Photos, Maps, YouTube and Search to answer questions such as a flight’s gate. The feature is off until a user turns it on, Google says. It is limited to eligible personal accounts and will reach cars with Google built-in in the coming months.
